Multicultural Trunk Collection
The highly popular multicultural trunk collection gives students a "hands-on" experience of other cultures around the world.
Teachers can order trunks to complement units on everything from Mexico and India to Japan and Africa. The trunks feature a variety of cultural items that can be incorporated into displays or passed around to give students a feel for the culture they are studying. Toys, clothing, money, flags, posters, recorded music, maps, crafts, and jewelry are just some of the many items available. On this page are displays created from the Spain/Portugal, Africa, and Cowboy/Western trunks.
Checkout Procedure
Trunks can be booked by phone and checked out for up to two weeks. The District Library & Visual Media Services is now delivering trunks to all schools. Teachers no longer need to worry about picking up and returning trunks to SARC. Trunks are delivered to school offices the day before they are scheduled for use. Teachers should return trunks to the office by 3 p.m. of the due date shown on the shipping label. Our courier picks them up the following morning. Please do not return trunks through district mail.
