These district-wide groups offer many different ways to get involved in Cherry Creek Schools. To volunteer in a specific school, please contact that school directly.

Certified Personnel Performance Evaluation Council

Mandated by state law, the council advises the Board of Education on the fairness, effectiveness, credibility and professional quality of the district’s certified personnel performance evaluation system. Meetings are held as needed. Contact Lyndal Brookhart in Human Resources at 720-554-4369.

Cherry Creek Community Legislative Network (CCCLN)

The committee, which meets monthly, promotes awareness of education issues, legislation and the legislative process. The network sponsors community events, including a legislative breakfast and a day at the State Capitol, to facilitate communication with state legislators, the Cherry Creek School Board, the State Board of Education and education advocacy groups. Long-Range Facility Planning Committee

Community members and administrators work together on this committee to make long-range planning recommendations to the school board. Two residents from each director district and three resident members-at-large are appointed by the school board. A resident representative of the Homebuilder’s Association also serves on this committee. Regular meetings are held monthly. Contact Angela McCain in Educational Support Services at 720-554-4453.

District Accountability Committee (DAC)

This committee has broad responsibilities for ensuring the district’s continued educational success and a cost-effective management. It is organized in compliance with Colorado state law. Members of this committee advise Cherry Creek School District Board of Education members on spending priorities, review applications for charter schools and report the effectiveness of district programs. The DAC reviews school improvement plans and prepares an annual report for the Board of Education. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. typically the second Wednesday of the month, September through May, at SARC. Multicultural Advisory Council

This council provides an opportunity to work with the Office of Student Success and Multicultural Services and advises the Board of Education. Student achievement and safety are the priorities of this committee. The committee meets the second Thursday of each month, September through April. Contact the Multicultural Office at 720-554-4527.

Gifted/Talented Advisory Council

The council provides educators and members of the community the opportunity to exchange information and support the district’s gifted and advanced learners. The council meets three times during the traditional school year. Contact the Gifted and Talented Office at 720-554-4257.

Community Asset Project, Inc. (CAP)

Members of this group share the responsibility of planning, funding and implementing prevention strategies in the district and the community through the district’s Prevention Office. The mission of this group is to build community partnerships that promote developmental assets, ensuring all children maximize their life skills and academic potential. Medicaid Advisory Committee

This committee is comprised of community agencies, parent representatives and district staff. Committee members meet to discuss issues that pertain to the district’s Medicaid Reimbursement Program. They also share information to better coordinate health services for all Cherry Creek School District students. Contact Angela Cutler in the District Medicaid Office at 720-886-7057.

Medical Advisory Board

The Medical Advisory Board is composed of physicians and other health care professionals from the community. They serve in an advisory capacity to the schools, the nurses and the administration on health issues. The board usually meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at ESC the second Wednesday in September, January and May. Parent Information Network (PIN)

PIN is an organization in the Cherry Creek School District dedicated to families. Our goals are to inform parents about current issues impacting youth today and give parents positive tools for raising healthy children. All parents are invited to attend. There are superb national and local speakers at every meeting that address relevant topics. PIN meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Student Achievement Resource Center. If you need more information please contact Lori Snyder (PIN Chair) at 303-220-1518.

Parents’ Council

The Parents’ Council promotes the exchange of ideas among parent representatives of all schools in the Cherry Creek School District and serves as a vehicle for communication within the district for parents, teachers, administrators and the school board. Meetings generally are held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the first Monday of the month at SARC. Contact Linda Peotter at 303-617-0870 for more information.

Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)

This committee focuses on the educational needs of students with disabilities. Parents, staff and community members comprise this committee, which serves in an advisory capacity to Student Achievement Services and the School Board. Meetings generally are held at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month, from August through May, excluding December. Contact 720-554-4224 for more information.
